Just curious...Is it bad for the hardwares (esp. hard drive) inside the computer case if the tower is placed upside down or horizontally?

I'm not sure if it can permanetely cause damage, but if it may restrict the CD-trays from opening.

I myself would never mount a hard drive upside down and therefore if you turn the computer upright, the hard drive will be upside down which is not recommended. Now placing it in a horizontal position should not cause any issues for the HDD. It might make for tricky CD insertion though and don't even try inserting a CD if it is upside down.
