One day I was playing videogames. (Diablo II). Suddenly my computer instantly turned off, with out a warning. My speakers and monitor stayed on. I tried turning the computer back on but nothing happened. I checked the plug to make sure it was plugged in and it was. There is no way the computer will turn on anymore. I was thinking it was the processor but i'm not sure. My amd athlon 1ghz has been running at about 45-50c for probably more than 2 years already. Also the power supply was another factor that i think could have contributed to the problem. I'm just not sure what happened. I didn't add any new hardware to the computer for the past 6-8 months. maybe even more. The last thing i added was memory. Can someone tell me what happened? and How do i fix it? If you need anymore information about the computer plz respond

but the thing is when I plug in the power supply to the wall, i get a signal on my d-link router. Whenever there is a light on the router from my computer, I believe that it signals power coming from the computer. Is this still related to the power supply? If i unplug the computer, the light on the router turns off, indicating my computer is no longer connected to the router. But when I plug my computer in, the light is on.

yah, it could be because a power supply sends out 3 impulses. 3.5v, 5v, and 12v i think, and one could be bad, i think that is what is wrong with mine.
