Comment:
Ok so i play CSS( counter strike source) and im getting 30-40 fps in some places and 20-30 in others, and when there are lots of action it sometimes gets down to 9-15 which is unplayable. ive got an Nvidia Gefore FX5200 8xAgp on my T300,

My question is which i think ive asked before, how can i have an AGP8x on a PCI slot and are there any settings i can change to get max fps ( ive got a View sonic E70)

is the problem with the graphic card only, or with the ram and processor?

To address your first question, AGP is an extension of the PCI bus. So that isn't a contridiction. Your FX5200 is an add-in card. The computer came with an integrated graphics chipset.

I am not a gamer so I can't really address what performance you should expect.

Do you have all the drivers for WinXP installed, the MBoard chipset drivers and the Gforce drivers?

You asked about this before:

You do NOT have an AGP card in a PCI slot. As OtheHill stated, AGP is an extension of the PCI bus & is sometimes reported as PCI by certain programs. You didn't say where you're getting your info from? If you check your other post, then click on the link to your system specs, the video is listed as "Ultra AGP II technology" & 3 cards are listed beneath it. I have no idea if you have an actual card or integrated video. You can tell by looking where your monitor is connected...does it attach to the board or to a card?

Anyhow, the FX5200 is a low end DX9 card & as DX9 cards go, it doesn't get much worse. Your FPS's should be considered normal for what you have.

Another problem I see is that you're only running 256MB RAM. You should have at least 512MB for a decent XP experience & at least 1GB for gaming.

This chart will give you an idea of how well the FX5200 performed on games in 2003:
