Computer Static

This static problem started when I connected a S-Video cable from my video card to my TV. I think the TV sent static through the cable to my computer case or something and somehow got my case to hold static. Now, whenever I unplug my S-Video cable from either end (the TV or the computer) I get static in my sound. If I touch the metal end of the S-Video cable to either metal on the TV (when the opposite end is plugged into the computer), or metal anywhere on the case (when the opposite end is plugged into the TV) the static goes away, most likely grounding the static on the computer. Is there any way to get static out of my computer because it is conflicting with my sound when the S-video cable is removed.

Is it a cheap cable? You could try the gold-plated cable.
A lame work-around: Use two cables: one on your pc and another on the tv. Attach a coupler to the baseboard (to ground it) and plug the cables into the coupler when you need to.
