The motherboard is always powered in some places including some contacts in the ram slots even when the computer is not running as long as the main battery is installed.
Did you remove the main battery as well as unplug the AC adapter when you changed the ram like you're supposed to?
Did this only start to happen after you changed the ram?
If so, not all ram will work in your computer properly. Try installing the original ram.
Regarding it starting up by itself, search with something appropriate.
Lots of things can cause a computer to restart before fully loading Windows. One of them is a ram problem.
