My computer has begun starting itself.
I happens in in the morning before 8 AM.I have inactivated all "wake up on wake up events" including "RTC Alarm Resume".
But the computer still boots up all by itself in the morning.I've also tried loading the BIOS fail-safe Defaults but this didnt help either.
I have experienced the same problem with my fathers computer and my guess is that the motherboard is defected.
I have tried overclocking both his and my computer but have ended up setting the CPU to its original speed.
But my tries to overclock might have defected the motherboard/CPU so that these involountarily startups occur.I've also thought about flashing the BIOS but have not done so yet.
I hope anyone has some inputs on this problem.
Sinserely yours

I say flash the BIOS. Not that I'm always right, but I definitely think that the BIOS is the problem here.

I agree that it's the Bios powering up the system. But are you `sure' that all the `wake up' options are `really' turned off?

Hello guys and thanks for your input.
The problem is solved, but I want to tell you about it since its a bit awkward but might be good to know in the future.
I followed your (and my :-D) advice and flashed the bios.
Unfortunately this was not successful.
The process stopped halfways, and nothing happened, so I resetted the computer. At this point I thought I was screwed and would never be able to start the computer again.
To my great surprice this motherboard (SOYO SY-7VBA133U) was equipped with a boot ROM feature that in case of a erroneous CMOS checksum or a failed flash programming enables a boot on a floppy.
So, the computer booted, displayed "Award Boot ROM" at the top, and asked for a system floppy disk".
So I retrieved a bootable floppy and placed a bios bin-file and awardflash.exe on it, and begun reprogramming the BIOS again. The reprogramming failed about 29 times, and during the process, the reprogramming hanged itself later and later in the process, until it finally was fully processed.
And so my computer works again. This event encourages me to recommend NOT to flash your BIOS if your computer starts itself.
Although, the bios flash memory seemed to be reconditioned when I repeatedly reflashed it.
This sounds strange though.
Maybe the bios chip really gets better the more often you reprogram it. Maybe it degenerates otherwize.
Im not that big a electrician to know these things. But I still wonder.
I dont wanna flash my BIOS again though.Well, thats my story.
Hope it helps anyone in the future.Thank you and good bye.
Sinserely yours
