This may seem very wierd but my desktop appears to turn on automatically at sporadic times. I have been present when this computer simply turns on by itself. What could cause this to happen? Thanks for any help.

Bit more info required but with modern ATX/BTX systems it doesn't take a lot to trigger them. If you have it set to restart after a shutdown then a brownout or surge will kick it into life. Also, if you have it on a network then there's often an option to boot from LAN so this may be the cause.
