Hi,

I'm having issues with a machine I built for a client of mine. Initially, I build the machine with little incident. Everything worked, but now it will turn on and get absolutely NO display from the screen. It is as if the board has a short in it or the video card is having issues. I've tried two videocards both with the same issue, one time the AGP video card was not seated properly and it only took me seating it completely and it worked, but now I am unable to get the machine to actually display on ANY monitor.

The machine also, if left on, will stay on for a couple minutes and then restart when it is having this issue.

I really don't know what to do. Help?

Probably proper use of the English language might help.

issue —n. 1 a act of giving out or circulating shares, notes, stamps, etc. b quantity of coins, copies of a newspaper, etc., circulated at one time. c each of a regular series of a magazine etc. (the May issue). 2 a outgoing, outflow. b way out, outlet, esp. the place of the emergence of a stream etc. 3 point in question; important subject of debate or litigation. 4 result; outcome. 5 Law children, progeny (without male issue). —v. (issues, issued, issuing) 1 literary go or come out. 2 a send forth; publish; put into circulation. b supply, esp. officially or authoritatively (foll. by to, with: issued passports to them; issued them with passports). 3 a (often foll. by from) be derived or result. b (foll. by in) end, result. 4 (foll. by from) emerge from a condition. at issue under discussion; in dispute. join (or take) issue (foll. by with a person etc., about, on, over a subject) disagree or argue. [Latin exitus: related to *exit]

problem n. 1 doubtful or difficult matter requiring a solution. 2 something hard to understand or accomplish. 3 (attrib.) causing problems (problem child). 4 puzzle or question for solution; exercise. [Greek problema -mat-]

Now which word would you most ascribe to a computer that won't work; issues or problems.

The above would normally implicate the motherboard.

Damn, know of any place I can get a relatively cheap motherboard with an AGP slot?

Need to see how many pins the CPU is and then I might just replace it.

Again we have folks coming here for simple troubleshooting issues that are passing themselves off as professionals. I suggest you troll here for six months or so to pickup a little more knowledge. I only speak for myself, a computer enthusiast, but I don't have any problems helping individuals with computer problems but when someone is charging for thier services they should know more than you do.

Couldn't agree more. First you need to know a little more about the CPU then how many pins it has.
