Recently I have been having trouble with my computer. Sometimes when I am playing a game or sometimes when I am browsing the web, my computer has major slowdown. It is running almost like I have 100 windows open at once and it runs really slow. I was running Windows 7 when this happened. I figured I had a virus or something. I formatted the drive and reinstalled Windows 7. Same thing still happened on a fresh install. I installed vista on a separate partition and had the same problem. I know it is not a virus or malware because it happened on 3 separate fresh installs. I ran Memtest86 and had 0 errors so I know it is not the memory. I have a hard time believing it is my motherboard or processor as they are only a couple of years old but I have no idea what else to point the blame at. Is it possible that somehow my CPU is "blown out" and needs to be replaced? What else would cause the major slowdown and make my CPU usage to spike. When I look at the resource monitor nothing is showing up as using a lot of resources; however, the CPU usage is still spiked. It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes my computer starts running slow as soon as it starts up, othertimes I can be on the computer for an hour or two before it starts slowing down. What could possibly cause this problem so I know how to fix it or replace the broken hardware. Thank you for your help and suggestions.
