Computer Shutdown when on the boot..Help!?

Specs: Windows XP SP3
My Friend bought a 2nd Hand Desktop PC , but its motherboard (Intel 915GL motherboard) not working, so he given me for fix this problem.
so, i bought a 915GL (code: G31D-M7) motherboard with DDR-2 1GB RAM.
i assembled all the stuff, but when i start the PC, it will start for 15-20 Seconds & then Turn Off, while in the BIOS/CMOS setting mode too.
I checked everthing, POWER SUPPLY working fine, RAM working fine...
i remove it battery from motherboard & put in reverse figure in the MB to sort. but on the reverse it work, then i put the battery in real position,
but after its work, i format the PC & installed new WinXp SP3, after it work perfectly, but its going little hang & got shutdown again, now its not showing any windows, neither installing any other windows, DVD ROM is working fine.
please help me.

U should return the whole system but since u bought new board we will try to fix the problem.
U didn't bother to list the rest of system specs.
"Now its not showing any windows"
can u see post screen? Can u enter bios? Did u check cpu temp?

yes i can enter in BIOS screen, when PC boot/start its directed the safe mode options, when i press entered in any got hanged on blank-black screen, & will shutdown automatic,
i tried to install new XP again but its not taking any software, XP got hanged on the Setup's Blue screen where its written in bottom "starting the windows".
i tried to install LINUX, Win Server03... but nothing happen, all got hanged on same screen. CD\DVD ROM is working fine, not have any problem. RAM FQ is same as MB FQ requirement.
all power supply fine too.
i donno wt is going on, do i have to check this stuff from the same shop where i bought my Motherboard??
