Computer Restarts, Won't shut down

I built my computer a couple of years ago, all of the sudden it won't shut down, everytime I select shutdown it restarts and if I hold down the power button (which is set to soft-off in the bios) it restarts! I have run registry programs and anti virus and spyware utilities and checked my bios settings. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If all the "wake-on" options in bios are disabled then I would suspect either a motherboard or powersupply problem. If you have access to another powersupply I suggest try it.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Thanks for the responses, I had to replace the original antec 350w power supply about 6 months ago, I figured it died because I have an xp2500 cpu overclocked to xp3200 and I have 5 case fans, cpu fan and power supply fan and it could not handle it so I put an antec smartpower 500w powersupply in about 6 months ago. Other than the restarting it seems to run fine. I just want to make sure I have checked everything before I buy another powersupply. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my computer continually rebooting, I finally replaced the memory and it was fine, hope this helps
