Computer restarts at random!

ok here's the problem... I recently bought a computer for my gf and everything seemed to work fine when i brought it home and set it up... However after a day or so of using it, the computer sometimes locks up and freezes or it just restarts on its own... and its not like i'm doing anything special on it either... just surfing the net or using word and excel and stuff... its really driving me nuts because i really don't have the time to bring it back to the place i bought it from... can anyone tell me what might be the problem?

Yes, it could be the memory as that was my fault, I changed the memory just yesterday and my PC does not crash reboot of freeze up, memory would be your best place to start first
Go to google and look up memtest-86, fantastic programe, checks your memory for problems, thats what helped me find my faulty memory, try each memory stick at a time, as that will check each one, which is better to help you find the faulty one
