Computer Reset/ASUS Voice problems

Two problems really, one is that the computer seems to keep restarting at random intervals. The other is that the ASUS voice keeps reporting "System Failed CPU Test" over and over again when playing games using Direct3D. Switching to OpenGL solves this but obviously I cannot change this for all games/programs.
As for the other problem, there seems to be no pattern whatsoever to the restarts. Sometimes it restarts just after the computer is switched on and sometimes after extended periods of time.
Any help on either of these problems would be greatly appreciated, Matt

To have XP display the error message instead of rebooting:
1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer. 2. Click Properties. 3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery. 4. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box. 5. Click OK, and then click OK.
