Computer recognizing monitor issues

October 12, 2011 at 21:24:01
Specs: Windows 7
My computer works perfectly fine, at least i thought so until a few days ago. I was playing League of Legends and suddenly it froze. After about 10 seconds of frozen screen it blanked out completely. It said there was no video input. So i switched the cable from my video card to the motherboard and got the same message. So i tried a different monitor on both the video card and the motherboard with the same effect. The only thing that works is completely turning off the tower and rebooting. My system is custom which worries me because its a lot harder to work on but if this has happened to anyone else i could really use some advice. Im tired of getting LoL banned for disconnecting. Thanks guys!

If shutting down and rebooting fixes the problem (temporarily at least) then it is not the monitor and probably one of these issues:
Bad memory. Run memtest86 to test your memory.
Underpowered (power supply does not have sufficient Wattage, or sufficient amperage on the 12 volt rail(s)) or weakening power supply (causing video card to lock up due to lack of sufficient power at peak loads). Post detailed system specs.
Bad video card.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
