Hello, My friend and I just built our first computer together(well first for me third for him). I was wondering if you guys could rate this on a scale of 1-10 what would you give it. Keep in mind we only spent 250 dollars and we had some parts e.g gaphics card radeon 9000 pro 128 mb. Anyway here are the specs: 1)Mobo-ECS Socket A K7S5A PRO 2)Cpu-AMD Athlon Xp 2400+ 3)Memory-512 pc 2100 drr 266 mhz ram 4)Power Supply-400 watts with two case fans 5)Video Card-Radeon 9000 pro 128 mb 6)Harddrive- 40 gb 7200 r.p.m 7)Pioner Dvd/Cd-rom drive 16x by 48x i believe 8) ETC.. the other basic parts I thank you in advanced.

yeah id give it a 7 considering i did the same sort of thing for my first. its a good way to get up and running and then you can upgrade the necessities. i got all mine for about 500 Australian but the only think i had was my monitor so i had to buy a geforce4MX.

well i would give it a 7 if you had good ram but 2100 is going to slow your system, but for 250 bucks you sitting good for enough time to hoard some more cash for some upgrades

The only thing I don't like other than the slow RAM is the ECS K7S5A. You can get a cheap KT400 or nForce2 board for about the same price as the K7S5A, and both chipsets have better performance and more features than the SiS chipset for the K7S5A.

Bottom line is whether or not YOU are satisfied with how your setup performs (based on what YOU run on it) on a scale of 1-10; others will always have a "better" idea, but they aren't using it! For $250, I think you most likely "did good" !!
