Off late my computer has been powering off randomly like when you hold down the power button for 5 seconds. I tried running a virus scan with AVG but most of the time the computer turns off before the scan is completed. From the incomplete scan results I found a few trojan infected files and a few spyware and unwanted cookies which I got rid of but it still keeps shutting down on its own. I read somewhere that it could be happening due to over heating and my computer does get quite hot but I was wondering if there's any other reason for this. Also, I noticed that sometimes which I attach my external hard drive and the disc on that starts rotating the computer turns off, could this have anything to do with it? Please help, I'm getting really pissed off now, I just hope I don't have to get a new hard drive
