Hey,
Im having some problem where my computer may randomly shut down(or more like turn off, it seems like something just turns off it doesn't go through the shut down sequence) and now it will not start up. I can turn on the power and some things seem to be on (power supply, fan, graphics card all seem to be on), but nothing gets sent to the screen and the USB plugs dont work. I'm not really sure what this is. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Might be a RAM problem. Google Memtest and see if your ram errors out. More than likely if your video doesn't show up on the screen than more than likely your ram is the culprit.

As guesses go, not one of mine - seems more likely a power supply fault or motherboard problem

Also:

"and now it will not start up"

.. would preclude any sort of RAM test on the machine in question

I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter

hmm i ran memtest and got no errors up to 638% coverage so I guess its not that. I'll also add that it sometimes works now. It still randomly shuts down and i can use it normally. And then after it shuts down sometimes it won't turn back on, and sometimes if I just wait a bit it will start working again.
