Hello,
One of the computers in my office would not turn on one day and I have yet to figure out what is causing the problem. I have a giga-byte K8NS mobo with an Athlon XP 2800. I have removed everything and remounted trying to eliminate any possible problems, but all I get when I turn on the computer is a couple odd clicking sounds. I have nothing hooked up except for the video card, so I am not sure where the clicking is coming from. I have swapped out both the power supply and video card with the same result. Does anyone have any idea why this computer is not showing video? Any help is much appreciated.

Disconnect your hard drive and CD rom drive and see if the PC will POST.
Clicking noises will most likely come from a fan or a hard drive or a disk drive.
A bad hard drive or a bad CD rom drive will prevent the PC from POSTING.
If the PC will post after that then re connect one or the other until no POST. That will be your bad hardware.

Hello,
It makes the clicking noise when ONLY the video card is plugged in. This is with no CD-ROM or hard drives whatsoever being connected. I installed a different motherboard with an older chip and I did get a video screen and the HD was recoignized. Is this more likely a problem with the motherboard or the CPU? I tried to swap processors, but broke both fans when dismounting so I am done trying that.
