For last couple of weeks my computer makes noise when running some programmes as it has to work extra hard. I checked the fans and it seems that power supply fan is not the issue. what could it be. I am not much familiar with compters too much except that I run it for personal use and internet. I have not installed any new software either.

It could be the cpu fan. If you can, check the cpu temps in the bios.

When the computer first starts up, repeatedly hit a key-it should be either F1, F10, or delete. Once you're in the BIOS, look for something like PC Health, though it might be called something else.
