computer keeps shutting down on its own

Specs: Windows 7
My computer keeps shutting down on its own, the times between the random shut downs vary and there is no prompt before it shuts down. It also shuts down even when it is left alone with no programs running. I'm almost positive that it is not a overheating problem like most help sites with similar problems suggest; I've also used different power cords and tried dis/reconnecting the inner components of the computer. I have a window 7 operating system. When I try to turn the computer on it doesn't usually turn on right away. When it doesn't turn on, the fan turns on being overly loud. Even when the computer has been off for hours it still doesn't turn on properly. When I finally get it to turn on it prompts me with three different prompts involving safe mode, start normally or start up repair. hen i select start up repair it shuts down before it completes. I don't know what to try next.
Please help, and thanks to any suggestions.
