my computer kept restarting so i changed the RAM from 256 MB to 1 GB. for a week my computer worked fabulously. the after a week it started restarting every 5 seconds. sometimes a blue screen shows up saying PAGE_DISPLAYED_IN_NONPAGED_AREA i know this means that there is something wrong with the RAM. how can i fix the problem on my own. and if i cant then what should i do.

Download & run memtest86 to check whether the RAM is bad or not. If it is, replace it. http://www.memtest86.com/download.html

Additionally, try re-seating the RAM. Unplug the computer first.

how do u reset the RAM? remove it and reinstall it? or reset the CMOS? how do u resetthe RAM?

"how do u reset the RAM?" Take it out, then put it back in again. You could try cleaning the contact edge on the memory stick. I usually use a pencil eraser, then wipe it with alcohol, allow it to dry, then reinstall it. But you can also try inserting it while the contact edge is still wet - popping it in & out a few times should help clean the contatcts in the slot. Make sure the system is turned off & unplugged.
