Help the day after the warranty let out. My computer started just shutting down. It sometimes takes a long time to start. I am very frustrated HP told me $300 to diagnose and repair

You should state that it's a laptop, not a "computer".

Your problem is a classic sign of throttling & overheating of the CPU. Try blowing the dust out of the cooling vents & when you use the laptop from now on, make sure to place it on a hard surface...not on a carpet, bed, couch or your lap.

thank you for your quick reply, Please don't laugh but where are the vents . in the back of my laptop? Do I have to use the can pressurized air duster? thanks again
