computer guy said costs $75 to fix sound card

Specs: Windows XP
the registry was corrupt ,he fixed it. now the sound card and video card dont work-im only worried bout the sound card guy wants too much to fix it-any possible way i can fix this myself?

I would be more worried about the video card. If that doesn't work you get nothing on the monitor.

If the original problem was a corrupted registry then probably all you need do is install the drivers. A simple enough job but it does take time and that is what you are paying for.

Drivers are easy enough to get hold off, providing you know were to look for them.

if the sound card is bad, i wouldn't be caught paying $75 for a new one. i have a couple extra, and i would be willing to sell you one of them.

does the forum permit business deals?

What do you mean when you say the video card doesn't work? Does nothing show on the screen? If not, how do you know it's the video card? If stuff is showing on the screen how do you know there's a problem with the video card?
