hey everyone I'm having a bit of a problem with my pc and it's basically this: My computer freezes about 2 to 4 hours while it's on, I usually know it's about to happen when i see the "busy/load light" come on and stay on, now before anyone tells me to read anything...I already checked out the site and saw a few things that I tried which unforuntatly didn't work.

But that's not my problem because I know i can just use a drive scrubber and i'm pretty positive the problem with go away.

My problem is this noise coming from inside my tower, I think it's my fan but i'm not sure and i'm not gonna take the fan out because knowing my luck if i do that i'll somehow screw up my computer.

Anyways I was wondering if there is a solution for the noise, and yea i checked the fan and moved around some wires, I cleaned out the dust, sprayed air in the fan and even have one of my house fans blowing into the tower.

And you guessed it...still the noise, I wanna do every possible action before I have to take it into the shop or get a new fan so any help would be helpful.

And if anyone has any idea on what to do about my pc freezing, please let me know.

Like i said i tried some things that didn't work but who knows maybe someone else can help me.

If the fan stops, the cpu will get hot & freeze.

It could be the Hard drive making a noise. Get a disk utility from the manufacturers website.

Could the noise be the power supply fan?

On the otherhand, the noise might not be a problem, it could be there are too many programs running.

I'm curious, what white grease stuff?

You don't mean heatsink/thermal compound.

Knowing Dave the Snake he probably does. I have used light machine oil on sticky fans to good effect many times. Just don't overdo it, one or two drop sis enough.

i don't think it's the power supply fan or the harddrive making a noise and I also think I don't overdo it with the programs, I'll maybe try disconnecting the pc and looking at from a better view who knows i may fix the noise lol thanks for everyones help
