It's been happening for a while. There are usually three things that could happen.

1) Sometimes I can boot up the computer and it stays on fine. But I'm afraid to reboot because when it reboots it freezes up sometimes.
2) It passes on black screen that shows what video card is being used and then has a blank screen from then on.
3) It boots up but freezes from when windows is booting up or upto 15 mins later.

What do you guys think it is?
ITS NOT A SOFTWARE PROBLEM
I think it is my RAM or motherboard.

If it was Ram you would normally hear beeps at boot up. If you know how , I would suggest you clear the Bios, if you don't,then pull the battery out . After the Bios is reset, see if the machine runs without the probs, if it does then go into the Bios and add one thing at a time. Good luck!

I would check the RAM first. I've seen lots of bad RAM that doesn't cause beeps at boot up, but causes all kinds of problems with the OS. Try removing all but one stick of RAM. See how the computer behaves. Then, try another stick and so forth until you find if any of the RAM (or combination) causes the freezing.
