Hello all,
I am very frustrated with this problem. My computer (Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q701) freezes, as in the picture that is on the screen stays there and I get a slow motion sound of what ever i am watching/playing.
This problem happens when playing Youtube videos or playing games. It is random with one exception, if i uninstall the sound driver and reinstall it i have anywhere from 1 - 3 hours of usage before it freezes again.
This has happened with in 10 min of booting my computer while completely cold and after 3 hours of hard core gaming.

Things I have tried...
install new BIOS
Install all new drivers from manufactures website
complete wipe of windows and re-install.
checked Ram ... both check correct.
opened up and cleaned out dust from everything
I have rivatuner software but it is only there to prevent another problem with black screen that happens to ALL qosmio x305 q701 laptops
I also replaced the fan, witch now dose not work at all... before that the fan would not spin up to max speed except at startup for about 2 min, after that it would not get above 40% speed ... I cant get any fan software to find my fan to control it or even monitor it. 40% is an estimate based on how it sounds from when it worked before.
The freeze is not related to the fan/heat because it does it 10 min after cold boot.

I am out of ideas any help would be nice.

If a fan is not running then you need to work out why. Could be faulty (despite being new), some connection issue, or the wrong fan.

Which fan is it? If it's the CPU fan then a freeze after 10 minutes is quite possible.

Have you checked temperatures (in BIOS or with a program)?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
