Computer freezes and display problems

Ok, so a little background is necessary for this problem. In late December, I had a problem while playing Starcraft 2 where my screen flashed to bright colors and the system froze, including the current sound bite that was playing being looped over and over. After a restart, the screen went black and I was unable to do anything. A POST by the machine indicated that it was unable to detect a graphics card. I RMAed the card and received a replacement. This replacement was an upgrade from a GeForce 8800 to a refurbished GeForce GTX 460 with more memory.

Due to some issues with a bad install, I had to format my computer after I installed the new card. I've installed very little on it besides antivirus and Starcraft 2. I had Comodo firewall installed, but that was causing problems of its own it seemed, so I got rid of it.

Now two different, but seemingly related problems are occuring. First, while playing Starcraft 2, at times the screen will freeze, go black, and then either continually stutter between a black display and gameplay before eventually coming back saying I ran out of Paged Pool Memory, or it will just go black. But while the screen goes black, gameplay will continue. I can easily Alt-Tab out of the game and then go back in and the screen will come back up as if nothing happened. Sometimes it will go black again, in which case Alt-Tab will fix the problem again.

The second problem is that occasionally I will get system freezes. Windows will not respond to anything, the taskbar at the bottom will not come up, but I am able to move the mouse. Furthermore, I can Alt-Tab and select to open the task manager, but when I do the screen will go black and lock up. From here, I have to reset the computer. Once I do this, everything works fine. These system freezes occur on the desktop, not when I'm in a game.

One more thing, I'm also having a problem with the display driver crashing and restarting. This has happened 4 times within the week, and is far abnormal from what I was experiencing with my original card.

I've posted my system specs bellow. I highly doubt this is a memory issue, one because I have 8GBs, and two because I already ran Memtest on it. I'm leaning toward either a faulty card, drivers, or a power supply issue. I'd like people's thoughts on the matter.

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53Ghz

Power Supply: Corsair 550W

2 Hard Drives, both reporting healthy status

The power supply is the heart of all computers. You must first eliminate it as a problem before going any further. I would try a new power supply with more Wattage. Another thing tom try is remove power from all unnecessary parts. Remember to continue to cool the CPU and GPUs.

I actually have replaced the power supply within the past few days to check this. So far the situation has improved, the screen on my computer doesn't freeze. Although I have had the graphics driver stop and restart on me on occasion. I do still seem to have some issues while playing starcraft, though even that situation has improved a bit.

I'm gonna continue watching it for a few days and try another game or two on here to see that things continue to function well. Hopefully I'll have good things to report soon.
