Hi, The following is a description of my system after it failed: 1.Turn on computer and monitor 2.Powersupply Fan runs 3.Harddrive red light is on steady,No flickering and no "datanoise" just a slight wirring noise only audible when putting ear on hardrive case. 4. Monitor shows blank screen 5. CPU fan on motherboard does not run 6. Checked all powersupply voltages at plug-in on motherboard. All voltages do check OK to specs. 7. Both CD tray's on ROM and Recorder don't respond when the retract buttons are pushed. Thanks, Zeil

It didn't post. many of those things you mentioned happen after a sucessful post. if the computer is muteat startup, check to see if the speaker is connected and working. the beep codes may point to the problem.
what BIOS you running?

Hi very likely the cpu fan failed first which in turn has taken out you cpu. without a fan the cpu can be fried in a very short time ,alto with my comp it ran with fan blocked for 30min to an hour with out being fried,I got home and could smell it. could also just be a bad mobo.
