OS: XP pro
CPU/Ram: Intel 2.6Ghz, 1GB
Product: Toshiba Satellite Labtop
Comment:

Before I formatted my labtop, i have problem in connecting the internet, and there was a message "remote computer doesn't response, check modem driver..."
then i installed modem driver, with no result, still the same problem....
Then, i decided to formate the labtop.
After that, the computer didn't display a message for finding new hardware (modem), as displayed for sound, network and vga cards...
i tried to add the modem via "add new hardware, but without any result...

What could i do now?
Is that problem due to a destroying virus or trojan????

i'll get crazy
there are no viruses or trojan.. i haven't install any programms yet...

WindowsXP has many hardware drivers included in the OS but evidently not your modem driver. I suggest you go online to the Toshiba site and search for all the drivers for your EXACT model laPtop.
