computer doesn't boot

Specs: Windows XP

I was adding some memory to my desktop and after adding the memory nothing happens. The monitor doesn't even change to a green light from amber. I removed the memory and tried to boot up and I still get nothing, amber light only. seems like something was fried and made inoperable.

I am running windows xp service pack 2 added 1gig double sided memory kingston kvr99U5193-091.A01LF

Reseat the video card and all PCI cards. Things can come ajar while working on the inside. If that doesn't work, remove ALL the RAM and bootup. You should get a beep code if there's an internal speaker connected. I hope you unplugged the PC and grounded yourself before working on the inside.
