Computer crashing at start up

Compqa / Presario 1600

Specs: Windows XP, AMD 64 3500+, 1.78 GHz, 2 GB RAM
Trying to fix my son's computer. Starts fine the first time in the morning, but crashes randomly and then won't start back up (crashes after first screen while booting up). Crashes every time he plays World of Warcraft. Green power light stays on so I have to unplug from wall to get it to turn off completely.

Video Card is ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series
I have removed Catalayst Control Center and reinstalled with newest driver

I thought maybe it was overheating, but it is crashing also while not playing the game at 52C. Fan is working. Just used compressed air to remove any dust on card.

PSU is 450W

Can anyone think of anything I can try to resolve this?

All A64 3500+ run at 2.2ghz, enter BIOS and disable cool and quiet.
Run linux live disc to see if it is a soft or hardware problem.

You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.
