Computer Crashes, Power Stays On

I bought a new PC the other day, and a couple of times a day, it seems to crash.

The screen goes to no input, sound cuts out, and the keyboard becomes unresponsive (caps lock light wont change for example).

The computer power stays on, I have to long press the button to turn it off, before booting it back up again.

I have the computer plugged into a (surge proof) multiplug adaptor, could this be the issue?

Many thanks
