I am in the process of replacing my computer case. The new case is pre-wired and the wires to the case switches and IDE led each have a colored wire and a white wire to make up the pair. The motherboard diagram indicates which MB pin for each circuit is positive and which is negative.
Should the white wire connect to the positive pin or to the negative pin on the motherboard?
Or, does it really matter?
I do not see any reference to this in the case information or the motherboard manual.

This may be elementary but I do not know the answer and I do not want to toast my MB. I kinda figure that the only stupid question is the one that was not asked.
Thanks

The power button doesn't matter. The LEDs will only work if correctly plugged. Plugging a LED in the wrong way should not do any damage.

At a guess, I'd say the white was negative. But wiring conventions don't seem to be observed much anymore.

Thanks Rimfire, I have been impressed with the advice that you have given at these forums these past several weeks. Therefore, I will assume the white is negative and proceed with the case replacement.
Thanks

Thanks for the information. I will write it down and post it inside my computer case.
