Comment:

I just had a new motherboard installed on my computer. It is a PCCHIPS M906HLU with a P4 2.8 processor. My problem is that sometimes to computer boots up, some times it hangs, and sometimes it asks me to boot into safe mode. I have a cable modem, a usb printer, a cordless optical mouse and keyboard both using ps/2 plugs, a soundblaster live card, and a geoforce ti 4200 video card. Any thoughts?

You may have some squirelly hardware issues. Make sure all drivers are loaded for your devices and are of the latest updates. You may have to start disconnecting drives and cards, one by one until the problem goes away. When you remove something and the problem stops. Then thats you bad hardware. Another good tool for checking you hardware and drivers and indentifying your hardware is Aida32. Do a search for it on Google.com and download it, install it and run it. You will recieve a wealth of info about your computer as well as links to drivers for your hardware. Best of all. The software is FREE.
P.S. Is your power supply strong enough?

Good Luck.

I also take a shot at the power supply. Unstable power can cause all sorts of problems and if your problems happen at different times with no special reason than my best guess is the power!!!

BTW:
Had big problems only a few days ago after I changed a CD-Rom agains a DVD Burner and guess what, it's been the power supply!
In my case that was easy because my 300W psu was way too small with 5 harddrives and 3 optical drives but it worked until the above change!
