Hi,
I recently had to buy a new SATA hard drive (Fujitsu MHW2160BJ FFS G2) for my computer (Dell Inspiron 1420). The computer only has 1 hard drive bay. I bought a SATA/PATA hard drive enclosure to put the new hard drive in, connect to the computer and do a complete partition copy using disk imaging software. However, the hard drive did not fit in the SATA connectors of the enclosure because it is a special type of SATA connector. So, I decided to use my Western Digital 1.5TB USB/Firewire/eSATA external hard drive for the backup, but when I do a disk copy to the hard drive, I can not boot from it. (That disk copy partition is the only partition on the hard drive, so it's not a matter of whether it's looking in a different partition). If someone could please give me an idea how to copy this WHOLE hard drive to the new one, so I don't have to set everything up again, install windows vista, drivers and programs, I would really appreciate it. Keep in mind this laptop only has ONE hard drive bay.
