Does anyone have (or have come across) information on how the VIA chipsets compare to the Intel chipsets with the new Pentium D and duo processors in terms of performance and reliability?

There's really no noticeable difference in a chipset's performance except when comparing some benchmarks. Then its just benchmark scores to compare the difference.

Intel's chipsets are a lot better than Via's.

Agree with jackbomb...Intel chipsets are better than VIA. Certain nVidia chipsets are comparable to Intel & in some cases even faster. SiS chipsets should be avoided.
