I am trying to remove some spyware from a family members pc that requires a boot into safe mode. But it seems the computer wont boot into safe mode. The menu doesnt even come up. I boot the machine and press down F8. But it comes up with a keyboard error during post. So I wait till the boot bios screen goes and press F8. Still no startup menu. Does anyone know of another way to boot into safe mode?

Also, you could try holding down the ctrl key. That sometimes works.

It sounds like you may have a Trojan that locks you out and, having seen it before, the only thing I've been able to do is reformat and reinstall the OS. If you can't get into safe mode or RUN regedit...yup. bad news.
