Compaq Notebook Restarts on Shutdow

I've had a Compaq Armada 7730MT running WinNT SP6 for about 6 years now. It's in a docking station about 99% of the time. About three weeks ago it started doing something strange: whenever I try and shut it down it goes through the typical shutdown routine but at the last second all of a sudden it restarts!
I can't find a way to stop this and because of it I can't (safely) shut it down to get it out of the docking station.
