had a reconditioned compaq tower for a few months... worked fine up until last night.

I think i had left it on, cant remember for sure, went to the toilet, came back it was off, and would not turn back on

on the front there are two lights, one normally lights up green and stays on when it powers up.

this is flashing red, and some times if u leave it for a while and disconnect reconnect power it will flash green then go red again.

any ideas? annoying cos i might have to fork out for a new machine.

wont power up at all. unsure of the model name/number, its a UK compaq tower

If it will not turn on chances are you have a bad power supply

Contact Compaq/HP and ask what the flashing red light means. You didn't indicate your computer model in your post.
