Compaq laptop won't boot

January 27, 2012 at 10:12:33
Specs: Windows Vista
I recently replaced the screen and video data cable in a compaq cq60. Now it won't boot or anything. Could I have done something to this computer in replacing said parts? Any suggestions? thank you.

Before replacing this screen, the computer worked fine except for some discoloration in the bottom of the old screen. As it won't boot up at all could it be the battery needs replacing? Even plugged into an outlet without the battery, it won't boot up.

You have either connected something up wrong, or you've inadvertently disturbed some other connection. You may even have "blown" a component if you had any static electricity in your hands when you were working inside it.

Check all the internal wiring and connections.
