compaq armada laptop wont boot

I recently installed a new mother board p11 300htz in a compaq armada 7400 the old board had a 366htz cpu I'm using the old hard that was on the 366htz board when I power the laptop up it only boots to the compaq splash screen I can access the compaq diagnostic app but the unit won't boot can any one help me??

Being able to access the diags is a good sign. Hows about you have a poke around in there and report back what errors you find. Or perhaps with a little luck you could what you found that fixed it.
