Try it. If you need to disable the onboard video this should do it:
F10 to get into cmos>computer setup>add-in devices>pci devices>configure>check the disable device box>OK three times>exit>enter

First thing to do is install the card. Boot up with the monitor still connected to the onboard adapter. Install the driver for the new card. Then reboot and check in the Bios a place to disable the on board adapter OR switch to the PCI adapter.
