cmos problem

CPU/Ram: 1.7ghz/512mb

I have 1.7Ghz athlon 2000, 266Mhz fsb, 512mb ram 133Mhz, HDD Seagate 80Gb,installed on new Mobo ASUS A7V8-MX,133Mhz,support IDE UATA 133/100/66/33. After partitioning and formatting HDD,some error occured,and I couldn't install OS. This error visually appeared on BIOS settings tab frame at upper line in right side. It looks like letter "D" or "$". When I disconnected pover swich from mobo and remove clock battery, this error disappeared after 6-8 hours. After program installed, computer can work 1-1,5 hours, and this error appear again! Please help me.

Not sure what the problem is. But have your tried all your hardware by its self to make sure its good. a cable or something could have gone bad. Also make sure all your hardware is compatible with your mobo.
