hi there pls can u help..
had a check sum error, keyboards halt on boot.
replace the cmos batteries and changed the ram but no luck
no all that happens it a horrible contance beep. cant even access the bios.. pls help

mobi is a abit kt7a v1.3

What is the beep pattern? This is important since it is the 'puter's method of attempting to tell you of a particular error. It will be a series of short beeps or, perhaps, a longer beep followed by shorter ones. You can count them.

That board is on about its 98th bios version including one that fixed the "Duron Issue" (?) Be nice if you could get it running just to update the bios.

In your manual should be the beep codes. They're like morse codes, i.e. 2 long, 3 short means "you spilled coffee on my northbridge, bozo". Not really. The manual and bios updates are here...

If you weren't getting the beep until you swapped out the memory I would re-install the memory.

Is a mobi a mini mobo?

If you're still dead in the water after replacing every component you can with spares, you might use those mobo jumpers to underclock the machine and see if that will get you a post. I'd say that's a last resort though.
