cmos battery failure. DX58SO MB installed ne

Intel Dx58so motherboard

Specs: Windows 7 64 bit, i7/6GB
Installed new DX58SO MB with i7 processor.Had some thermal shutdowns until I reinstalled the CPU fan. Now getting "The Firmware has detected a CMOS battery failure". This occurs after Windows 7 64 bit apparently hangs, or at least the screen goes black and I can't seem to wake it up. So I power down and then pull the plug and go to reboot. That's when the BIOS reports that Firmware has detected CMOS battery failure. Hit Enter to continue. CMOS Checksum error. Hit enter to continue. Date and time need to be reset.

The battery feels loose inside the round holder. (It rocks side to side if you touch it). Bought a new battery and still getting the same problem. I have a feeling the battery holder clip is not tightly contacting the positive side of the battery.

Should the battery "rock" within the holder?
Reading 150-170 F on the CPU gadget display. Is this running too hot?
Updated BIOS flash to 8-30-2010
Sometimes seeing CPU Throttling on the Intel Desktop Control

Any help with this "battery" problem would be appreciated.

Temps should be reported in Celsius. Generally speaking, less than 40C at idle is what you should be shooting for. 170F = 77C, so you have a major problem with your HSF installation.
