Hi all I have recently been having problems with my sound as I can't hear any. In the device manager all my sound controllers report no problem except the C-Media AC97 Audio Device that says:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
I have tried to rollback the driver which does not work and also I cannot do a system restore as I found it turned off (for some reason). The sound card is a ASUS A7V600 onboard.

Get in the Bios and look for enabling Reset Configuration Data.Save and reboot.Check System Properties for any Exclamation Mark.To get sound you need the driver installed and an IRQ without conflict.Good luck.

Hi, Remove it from System Manager. Reboot and Windoze will automaticallyh reinstall it. If it ever worked, it may come back to life. Always a good trick when a device that has been working suddenly quits. Good Luck, Jim
