its me with the clicks again. it's not actually clicks, more of a static sound. it's hard to describe. i get these sounds from a fan, i believe, when the computer have been off for a longer time. is this normal. some kind of warm-up time perhaps? i am quite sure it comes from my graphics card fan. i checked my hard drive and it has 0 errors. the psu is quite new because the old one blasted in summer.

It happens. Just this week-end the fan on my 8500LE went out. Took out the card, inserted 3 drops of WD-40 lub, and it started running like a champ again. Sometimes a little dirt will make the blades "tic"; take a very soft, small paintbrush and brush out the card fan and any case fans. If it still does it, you got a bearing going out. Make sure it's not your CPU heatsink fan or the power supply fan. If it is, replace it immediately, don't wait.

Don't take chances! Replace a noisy fan. Get one with ball bearing if at all possible.
