Greetings one and all!

I have a Graphire slate blue 4×5 Wacom tablet I purchased in 2000. It has served me well for all these years.

My 1 year old son has a fascination for this tool. This morning he sucked on the eraser part of the pen. I shook out as much saliva as I could from inside it... but I fear there may still be some left.

Current symptoms: when the pen hovers over the tablet by, say ½ cm the amber diode switches to green (as if I'm pressing down on the tablet as in former days).

I have modified the buttons so that it works fairly well. Tapping the tablet no longer has any effect.

Any suggestions for cleaning out the inside of the pen? Isopropyl alcohol? Methyl Alcohol? Some switch is activated in the eraser end and I'd like to clean it out. There is circuit board inside the pen: no batteries.

I will wait a few days and see if the drying process will have a positive effect. But I have my doubts.

Thanks.
