If you don't have any canned air I find using a small paintbrush to dislodge the dust followed by carefully blowing out the case with a hairdryer on cold setting to be a satisfactory method.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach him to fish and his wife will never forgive you.

don't hairdryers produce static electrcity... i had a friend kill a video card with one.. not sure if it was the heat or the static though. sounds like you don't have any trouble with it, i must be wrong.

I would just go to wal-mart and get a can of compressed air. You can also use a vaccum with and extension tube (just ground yourself and be careefull not to know things loose). I like to use the vaccum after i use the air because just ueing air alone will just dislodge the dust and it will resettle again somewhat in you're case unless you vaccum it out. I use the small extention on ny regular dirt-devil. I do totally unlug my power supply though and am very cafeful. This is for my home unit. In my shop i use a shop vac-extention to clean user units, and ... i clean literally hundreds of PC's and i have a concrete floor :)

A can of compressed air is the safest. I zapped a couple of components with a vacumn cleaner before I learned better.

It's all in the user of the vaccum :) This is why i have a concrete floor and give examples to my guys (i have 3 that work for me int he shop) as to how to do it. Over 800 system cleaned roughly over two years and nay a zapped component. Ever.

I once was cleaning my entire computer, it was all disasseblbed and my neice got jelly on the cpu, and it was hard to get off, so i decided since im upgrading in a month or 2 im going scrub it off with an old toothbrush and it really wasnt important if i broke it, after running it under extremly hot water and using a toothbrush on it i became a firm beleiver that a amd athlon xp 2700+ was a tough chip, its currently running in my 2nd computer.
