Cleaning out a computer

Question about cleaning the inside of a computer. Is it possible to damage things by using compressed air? Either by blowing the dust around and it gets jammed in a spot it shouldn't be or the liquid that sometimes comes out of the can of compressed air?

I have never had any issues. I clean fans and heatsinks periodically. Remember to keep the can at least 8-12 inches away from whatever your cleaning. DO NOT SHAKE CAN while spraying (That is why liquid comes out!) The liquid could be damaging, don't know. It should be fine. Dust doesn't usually get jammed in places, and the air pressure in those things is so strong, it would easily blow dust from out of any nook or cranny.

I use a hairdryer set to cold and maximum blow (to avoid an ear-bashing, best to do this when her-indoors is shopping) which is a much cheaper method. Use a narrow long haired brush to assist.
With the pc disconnected from the mains, remove the tops from the fdd and psu and blast away. Gently clean the fdd heads with a cotton bud dipped in isopropyl alchahol. Normally there is no need to disconnect any cables.
Good luck - keep us posted.

I have cleaned many PC's using compressed air not only from a can but also from a compressor (in a metal workshop) and never had a worry.
